Investing in the next generation by providing scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors in the Shreveport community — honoring the Buffalo Soldiers' legacy of service and excellence.

Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders
The NABSTMC Shreveport Chapter believes that education is one of the most powerful tools for building a stronger community. Each year, we award scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Caddo and Bossier Parish area.
Our scholarship program honors the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers — men and women who overcame extraordinary obstacles to serve their country and community with distinction.
By investing in local students, we carry that legacy forward — ensuring that the next generation has the resources and support they need to achieve their dreams.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Who Can Apply
- ✓
Must be a graduating senior attending Caddo/Bossier Parish and surrounding area high schools
- ✓
Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees, supplies, and equipment at any institution of higher learning or trade school
- ✓
Must submit a completed scholarship application packet
- ✓
Committee selects at least two recipients based on quality of packet and competitiveness of candidate
- ✓
One recipient will compete at the Frontier level for additional scholarship funds ($10,000 total at Frontier level)
- ✓
Frontier winner may compete for an additional $5,000 at the National level

Describe a challenge you have overcome and how that experience has shaped your goals for the future. How do you plan to use your education to serve your community?

Complete All Sections
Fill out every section of the application completely and legibly. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Gather Supporting Documents
Collect your transcripts, letters of recommendation, and any other required supporting materials listed in the packet.
Submit Before the Deadline
Submit your completed packet by the deadline listed in the application. Late submissions will not be accepted.
